The Department of Labor has released their preliminary list of the 10 most frequently cited violations for fiscal year 2016. In previous years you could have expected to see the same ten violations with slight variations, and this year is no different.

1. Fall Protection

2. Hazard Communication

3. Scaffolds

4. Respiratory Protection

5. Lockout/Tagout

6. Powered Industrial Trucks

7. Ladders

8. Machine Guarding

The only change from 2015's top 10 violations list is Machine Guarding moving up from number 9 to number 8. This violation is on the rise, as it was in the number ten spot in fiscal year 2013.
